Italian painting from the second half of the 17th century. Oil artwork on canvas depicting the Apostle with a book identifiable as Saint Paul or Saint Luke. Painting attributable to the painter Felice Ottini, active in Rome in the 17th century, lacking authenticity. Known for having been a pupil of Giacinto Brandi, he died early in 1697 and the painting in question exhibits a pictorial verve worthy of the best Roman tenebrism. Elegant antique frame in gilded wood decorated with floral motifs, with some signs of aging. Artwork that has undergone restoration with relining, replacement of the frame and restoration of color in some places. It has a loss of color on the bottom right (see photo), overall in good state of conservation. Sight size H 72 x W 58.5 cm.
